Hi everyone! I’m Cora, a Rottweiler/Springer Spaniel mix born 3/2/23. I came into rescue pregnant and really haven’t gotten to be a dog yet, only a mother to six healthy puppies. I was such a great mother. I am potty trained and walk great on a leash. I love going for walks, playing with the resident dogs and other foster dogs. I sleep on the floor next to my foster mom’s bed. I do chase cats but would never hurt them. I love getting attention and will jump on you to get your attention. I would love to be a lap dog, forgetting about my size. You can brush me as much as you want, I love it. However, bathtime is a different story. I would rather roll around in the grass or dirt and call it good enough. I hope that my perfect forever family is out there looking for me cause I am waiting for you.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Maxine came to us from a breeder friend of ours. We adopted her at 3 months old and got to work on training her. She has a very friendly and sweet temperament. She's peppy and listens well to recall. She LOVES to swim and is amazing with kids and dogs. We have a small farm and Maxine has a lot of space to run and roam. Unfortunately this has gotten her into some trouble which has now determined that she needs to be tethered when outside which is not ideal for any life. Maxine's natural instinct to hunt has caused a lot of damage to farm and she would be best suited with a hunting family or a family that have time to play and work with her. She's a total sweetheart, just not a fit for a farm.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.*   My name is Daisy and I am a senior girl who is two parts sweet, one part sassy. I'm very easy-going most of the time, but once I want some pets or think I might get to go for a walk, I can get a little bossy and bark or paw at my foster mom. I love being outside and soaking up the sun, but walks are my favorite. I get along well with the other dogs in my home, and pretty much just ignore the cat. I enjoy getting pets on the head and ears, but I'm not too sure about the whole cuddling thing yet. My favorite place to sleep is on the dog bed in the bedroom by the humans. I haven't met any kids yet, but I'm very gentle so I think I would be okay with respectful & dog-savvy kiddos!   Something really important to know about me is that I have something called hyperparathyroidism. What this means is that a tumor in my parathyroid gland produces excessive levels of parathyroid hormone, leading to increased blood calcium levels, which will become toxic to my kidneys. I'm on some meds to help with this, but because I'm an older gal, the vet thinks that it won't be too long before symptoms start to get worse, and he can't be sure what my life expectancy looks like.    But, my foster mom says quality is more important than quantity, and she says that I am a quality dog that has so much love left to give! And honestly, who couldn't love a beautiful girl like me? My ideal home would be patient, loving, and on the calmer side who is willing to work with my condition. If that sounds like you, let's go for a walk and get to know each other, I'd love to meet you!   Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package!
