If you’re looking for a snuggle bug, Lucy is THE girl. This compact 30lb medium size girl is all about cuddles and snuggles. Her tail will not stop wagging when she spots people close by. That’s because she assumes everyone within a mile radius will stop by to give her pets and snuggles. She will immediately lean into you for head pets and chin scratches. If you stay for more than a minute, she’s showing her belly in hopes you’ll reach down and give her soft furred belly and chest a few scritches too. The past few weeks while in foster, Lucy has been crated due to her healing pelvis. We haven’t had a chance to take her for a walk yet. But she enjoys trotting around the backyard with the resident chihuahua, and recently discovered she’s healed enough to climb onto the family room chaise as the incline isn’t all that terrible. That’s her favorite spot to lounge- the family room chaise where she can spot her foster mom in the kitchen, or foster sister doing her homework at the dining table. She can also spot if the resident kitty starts to climb down the stairs and she’ll start whining. Because Lucy find kitties and small critters a bit too interesting, she would do best in a cat and small critter free home. She would get along with other dogs in the home, preferably similar size dogs. Lucy doesn’t show any resource guarding around food, but is very protective of her toys and her crate. She sees that as her spot and does not like the resident dog going near it. Away from toys or her crate, she gives kisses to the foster kid, mom, and resident dog. But boy does she love her toys. She’s fine with treats but she gets super excited for soft squeaky toys. She’s very gentle when taking treats and toys from hands. She obviously doesn’t have a problem being crated during the day and all night. She is potty trained and able to hold it while crated. She’s gone on a few car rides and have done very well each time. Lucy has a medium to low energy about her, so don’t worry about muscle craps from the never ending ball toss or excessive long walks. She loves nothing more than to sit in your lap while being scratched, stealing kisses here and there.
