Story
Meet Pookey. This 4 year old boy joined the NorCal family when his adopted Mom passed away and his adopted Dad went into Assisted Living. Pookey is a sweet, affectionate, friendly boy. He would love to be on your lap or roaming around your backyard. Pookey definitely needs a secure, fenced yard and a home where someone is home with him the majority of the time. He would not do well in an apt. or condo. Pookey's foster mom was asked to write a profile for him. Here is what she had to say: "Pookey has been ao delightful guest. He is house trained and he loves his food, in true cocker style. He easily attaches to his human. Pookey can be a couch potato, but he loves a brisk walk in parks or in our neighborhood. Pookey loves car rides. He reacts to other dogs on leash, but he is quickly distracted. Pookey needs to be in an only dog home. He does well with older, dog-savvy children. He has a soft mouth and never grabs treats. Pookey simply has a great big, loving personality." Pookey has been to the Vet and has a clean bill or health. He recently had cataract surgery and is excited about seeing his world through new eyes. Story
Meet Murphy. This 3 year old boy is a sweet, curious, very active boy. He needs a lot of training, especially on leash. He is strong and determined, but wants to please. Murphy loves to play ball and needs a lot of exercise to keep him entertained. Murphy definitely needs to be with a family with a good size, secure yard and someone that can be home with him the majority of the time to take him to training and work with him. Murphy gets along with other dogs, but in true cocker style he just wants to be with his special person. Here are some words from Murphy's foster mom, describing him. "Murphy is a big, strong boy. He is a really good boy, very smart and powerful. He could easily knock someone over and pull them across the state. :-) Murphy knows basic commands, sit, down, leave it and will sit and watch you in the kitchen. He loves, loves, loves his squeaky toys and could chase balls all day. Murphy sleeps through the night, only barks when something gets his attention. He will give you a little whine when he wants attention. He is reactive on walks to other dogs and needs a lot of work on pulling. Freddy can be a "bull in a china shop", but provided a good home where he has someone to spend time and work with him, he will be a very good dog. He is anxious to please and deserves a forever home with someone to love and train him. Murphy has been to the Vet and has a clean bill of health. Story
Meet Sully and his companion, Luna (see post). Sully and Luna are a bonded pair that joined the NorCal family when their owners were unable to provide them with the life they deserved. Sully, the male, is a tiny bit more reserved than Luna, the female, but once they start chasing each other around and playing, they are a bundle of fun and laughs. Sully and Luna definitely need a good size, secure yard to run and play. They are good, loving, affectionate dogs, but need someone that can be home with them the majority of the time, has lots of energy and can give them lots of love and attention. Sully and Luna get along well with other dogs, are potty trained, with a doggy door and are definitely bonded. They sleep and play together. At this point, they never seem to stop moving. When not running around they would love to be up in your lap. Sully and Luna would also love a good, long brisk walk. Sully and Luna have been to the Vet and have a clean bill of health. If you are interested in Sully and Luna, please go on our website at norcalcockerrescue.org and fill out an adoption application.

Story
Meet Chandler and his buddy, Joey. These 2 year old boys joined the NorCal Family when they were found as strays on the streets in San Jose. Joey is blonde and Chandler is black. Don't let those angelic faces fool you, they are a bundle of energy and laughs. They play rumbustiously together, sleep together and take care of each other. Joey and Chandler need to be in a home with a good size, secure yard, where they can run around and chase each other. They also have some separation anxiety, so need to be in a home with someone that can be home with them the majority of the time. Joey and Chandler would love to go on walks with you or take a ride in the car. They get along with other dogs and although they need some training, they are happy, energetic, affectionate, loving boys. Joey and Chandler have been to the Vet and other than the usual cocker ear infections, they have a clean bill of health. If you have been looking for two sweet dogs to love, train and be there to help them grow and develop into their best selves, please go on our website at norcalcockerrescue.org and fill out an adoption application.
