Story
Between May 1st-17th, part of my adoption fee is sponsored! Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters campaign, my new family can take me home for $70! Meet Autumn! Autumn is a gentle, soulful 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel weighing about 20 pounds who has come a long way from her past life in a puppy mill. It’s clear she hasn’t always known kindness or stability, but despite that, she is incredibly loving and just wants to be close to her people. She is the kind of dog who will quietly make her way over, curl up beside you, and look up for affection, or nudge you with her nose before rolling onto her back for belly rubs with the sweetest little trust. She forms deep bonds and thrives on connection—she just wants to feel safe, loved, and reassured. Autumn does wonderfully with other dogs and coexists very easily with them, though her heart really belongs to her person. She’ll happily climb right over another dog just to get closer to you, which perfectly sums up how much she craves love and comfort. Because of her past, Autumn does struggle with anxiety, which can show up as pacing, restlessness, difficulty settling, and at times even becoming too overwhelmed to focus on eating. Crates can be especially stressful for her, likely due to the instability and confinement she experienced earlier in life. Over the last month, however, Autumn has made incredible progress after starting Prozac alongside structure, routine, and reassurance. Her anxiety has significantly decreased, she is eating full meals consistently again, settling much more comfortably, and beginning to truly relax and enjoy simply being a dog. She loves curling up in her dog bed, resting beside her people, and running over for belly rubs. Autumn’s medication will be an important part of her continued success, and she is thriving with the consistency and support that help her feel safe and secure. Autumn would do best in a calm, patient home where someone is around most of the time. A work-from-home or retired household would be ideal, as she finds comfort in companionship and consistency. She’s not a dog who wants to be left alone all day—she’s a dog who just wants to finally feel like she belongs. She is also working on potty training, which is still a work in progress, but now that her anxiety is improving, she is making encouraging strides. She is currently on prescription C/D food to help manage urinary crystals and continues to do well with consistency and support. What makes Autumn so special is her quiet resilience. Even after a difficult start in life, she has so much love to give. There is a softness to her—a gentle, hopeful spirit—that just wants someone to show her that the world can be safe and kind. Autumn is looking for a calm, committed home that will continue giving her the patience, reassurance, and stability she’s always deserved. In return, she will offer deeply devoted, affectionate companionship that is truly something special. Autumn is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. Story
Zoey is a 5-year-old, 13lb Cavapoo with the sweetest soul and so much love to give. After spending her life in a puppy mill, she’s learning just how wonderful life as a beloved family dog can be and she loves it! This little girl absolutely loves to snuggle and be close to her people. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow and couch cuddle buddy, Zoey is your girl. She does best with companionship and would thrive in a home where someone works from home or is around often, as she doesn’t love being left alone. Zoey is currently being fostered with two other dogs and would enjoy having another dog in the home to help continue building her confidence, but it's not mandatory. She also does well with kids! She has not been around cats but would likely be just fine. She’s done wonderful going potty outside on a schedule and has only had one accident in the house. Zoey also walks great on a leash and enjoys being outside! She can go up stairs without a problem, though she’s still working on mastering going down them. A fenced-in yard would be ideal for her as she continues to grow more comfortable and confident. Zoey is an incredibly sweet and loving pup who deserves a family ready to spoil her with the safe, happy life she’s always deserved. She’s got such a fun personality and will bring so much joy to your home! Zoey is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Lucy Lou🐾, a 5-year old, 17lb Cocker Spaniel who is learning to feel safe & loved with family. Lucy Lou is a shy, gentle girl who is still getting used to trusting humans. Lucy Lou is a little nervous to be held & cuddled, but with time & patience, she is sure to melt your heart. She gets along well with other dogs but hasn’t been around cats. Lucy Lou would fit best with older children as she continues to build her confidence. Lucy Lou is crate trained, working on house training but is kept on a consistent schedule in her foster home. Leash training is still a work in progress. Lucy Lou loves being free in a fenced back yard to explore at her own pace. Because she didn’t have a good diet earlier in life, Lucy Lou has had multiple teeth extracted, so soft food will be a must for her going forward. Lucy Lou has a sister named Darcy. If you’re looking for a lovely sister duo, consider applying for both so they can continue their journey together. Lucy Lou is looking for a patient home, that will give her time to blossom. With a little understanding and a lot of love, Lucy Lou will ultimately be your best friend for life. Lucy Lou is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00.
