Meet Dobbie! Dobbie is a 5-year-old, 118 lb Saint Bernard/Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog mix with a fun-loving personality and plenty of big-dog energy! Sadly, Dobbie came to us when his owner could no longer care for him due to a terminal illness, and now he’s looking for a new home where he can continue living his best life.
Dobbie is a sweet, outgoing guy who loves being part of the action and going places with his people. He has spent much of his life on a large property, where he enjoyed roaming the land and helping watch over livestock. He is house-trained, knows commands like sit, wait, and leave it, and has been perimeter-trained on his previous property. He also has a silly side and loves carrying around stuffies, pinecones, and even wooden boards!
Dobbie is looking for a home out in the country with plenty of land to explore. He does not do well with confinement and can become very vocal and determined to escape when restricted to a small space so apartments, condos, city living, and small yards are not a good fit. A spacious property and a lifestyle that allows him room to roam would be ideal.
Dobbie is good with other dogs, but he can get very excited when meeting people and dogs on walks and may pull hard to say hello. At 118 lbs, he is an incredibly strong dog who needs an experienced, confident handler capable of managing his size, strength, and enthusiasm. Large-breed experience is a must! He also has a lingering limp from being hit by a truck when he was younger, so his adopter should be mindful of his physical comfort and activity needs.
Dobbie is a lovable, adventurous big guy who wants to be out exploring and spending time with his people. If you have the space, experience, and country lifestyle this handsome boy needs, Dobbie could be the perfect addition to your family!
Dobbie is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.
