Cooper is a small dog with a big heart who has been misunderstood because of the challenges he has faced. While he may need an experienced handler who understands fearful or uncertain behaviors, there is so much more to him than what appears in a shelter kennel. When given patience and a chance to feel safe, Cooper shows the dog he truly is — affectionate, loving, and eager for companionship. He enjoys cuddle time, walks beautifully on leash, and has formed positive connections with volunteers who have taken the time to know him. Cooper does not need someone to “fix” him — he needs someone willing to help him rebuild trust, gain confidence, and learn that he is finally safe.

Story
Violet is 4yrd old, very sweet and a cuddler. Not a guard dog at all. She does like to run and play on the golf course when she plays Houdini and climbs the fence. She plays very well with other dogs and cats. Violet's special need is her anxiety. She can smell rain from miles away and she begins to get restless. Pending on the weather, she will hide wherever she can. This could be under a bed, in your lap, in a closet. Violet does have anxiety medication and cannot be in a cage as she will get hurt more in a cage than being out in the house. Violet will sleep right next to your bed or right outside your bedroom door, so watch where you step or you will be the one to fall in the night. Violet is not a fan of water. She hates being sprayed with the water hose, will not willinging get in the kiddy pool just to cool off and play, baths have to be bribed with treats. You can say the word treat and she is running to you or she steals them if they are kept low. Snacks on her kibble forever.

Hello, We have had Denzel for 3 years, but needing to rehome him because I am having twins. I currently have a 8 month old baby and the twins arrive in November. That’s 3 babies in one year! We love Denzel and want him to go to a home where he will have more attention. He is a sweet boy and needs more attention than we can give. He loves pets and cuddling. He also likes playing fetch. He is used to being indoors and when being monitored he will not potty in the house. He also will not use the potty in his cage. He is used to being in his crate while we go to work and we never come home to an accident. Very gentle and loving dog. Loves going on walks and good on leash. Never had a biting incident with him.
