Jasper comes from a Persian word meaning “bringer of treasure”. It’s a name attributed to one of the three Magi. What gift can a 3-year-old Siamese mix cat bring? Especially one with a damaged eye? A cat who may have or may not have some hearing loss? Shelter personnel are observing me to determine whether I truly have a hearing loss. I was surrendered to Paws and Claws because of what my person called “bad living conditions.” I had severe microphthalmia (small eyeball, a birth defect) and entropion (inward rolling of the eyelid) which had gone untreated. I also developed severe conjunctivitis in that eye. A vet thought that I might need to have the eye removed, but they did surgery to repair it instead, so I still have two eyes! My gifts are my affectionate personality and the love I can give. I like belly rubs and sleeping with my person. I also like curling up in cozy cat beds. I was eating dry cat food in my home.
