Rescue FAQs

Pawsibilities is a 501c3 titled non-profit haven for animals who have been abandoned or surrendered to high kill shelters. Our goal is to rehabilitate them, emotionally and physically, and find them permanent homes. We travel to overcrowded and under trafficked shelters to rescue animals that have run out of time. With a group of highly trained volunteers, we take the time to evaluate each individual animal’s needs and provide unique care to help them succeed in life after shelter. No matter how long it takes, we are devoted to each animal that comes into our doors for their entire life. We provide educational support for families before and after adoption. We are committed to keeping animals in their homes. At Pawsibilities we believe that all it takes is patience, understanding and a loving hand to help each and every animal find the perfect match. We believe we can achieve a world where there are no homeless pets through advocation of spaying and neutering our animals. The tragedy of overcrowded shelters is the same in every area and while many shelters and rescues are striving for a no-kill policy, the reality is that thousands of animals are killed in shelters each week across the nation. There simply is not enough room. We strive every day to educate on the benefits of spaying and neutering. For every dog or cat that doesn't have a litter, many other animals can be saved. Every animal who leaves our care will be spayed or neutered and up to date on proper vaccinations.Through donations we will expand our housing facilities to include any species of animal that needs our help. We plan to include areas for dogs, cats, small animals, farm animals (including horses, cows, pigs, chickens, etc), reptiles and rodents. Any animal that needs help will have a safe place and a voice with us.
All of Northern Nevada including Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville and outlying areas.

Additional adoption info

Every adoption is unique. One pet may need a slow transition into their new home and one may be able to go home the day of the initial visit. We move at the pace of each individual animal.
