The Orange County Animal Shelter is responsible for providing humane care to unwanted, lost or abandoned animals The Orange County Animal Shelter provides safe haven and vet care for hundreds of animals of all ages and descriptions each year. Happily, we have had great success promoting our animals on Petsmart adoption events and with the help of Adopt A Pet. Dozens of animals have been adopted by people who have come from many other states. Would you like to join them? If so, please let us know! The greater our reach the more homes we will find for the animals in our care. Although we are about 1.5 hours away from the Washington, D.C. metro area, it is an easy drive. You can even make a day of it and stop off at country stores, Civil War battlefield sites and a huge mall complex in Spotsylvania/Fredericksburg.
