🐔 Barker’s Feathered Friends Sanctuary Adoption Process
We’re excited you're interested in adopting one of our rescued feathered friends! To ensure a safe and loving forever home, please follow our adoption steps below:
---
Step 1: Complete the Adoption Application
Fill out our [Adoption Application Form] with details about your home, experience, and how you plan to care for the poultry.
---
Step 2: Application Review
We will review your application within 3–5 business days. We may contact you for additional information or to schedule a short phone or video call.
---
Step 3: Background & Home Check
We may perform a basic background check and request photos of your setup or conduct a brief home visit to ensure it’s safe and predator-proof.
---
Step 4: Meet & Greet (Optional)
If approved, we may invite you to meet the birds in person (or virtually) to find the best match for your home.
---
Step 5: Adoption Fee & Agreement
Once matched, you’ll sign an adoption agreement and pay a small adoption fee to help cover vetting and care.
---
Step 6: Bring Them Home!
You’ll schedule a time to pick up your new feathered friend(s) or arrange transport. We provide transition tips to help your new pets settle in.
---
Step 7: Stay in Touch
We love updates! Adopters are welcome to share photos and progress. We’re here if you ever need help or advice.
---
Note: We do not adopt out birds for meat, breeding, or fighting. All adopted animals must be kept as pets or companions only.
