ATHENA'S WISDOM ANIMAL RESCUE; is all about saving unwanted and homeless dogs & cats and finding them a new, loving, forever home. We Take in all Breeds of dogs, and cats. Every pet deserves a second chance at a happy life. We are new to Michigan, we opened July 2005. Our Director Is new to Michigan from Florida. She has been heavily Involved in Animal rescue and animal welfare since 1979. All of our animals are fully up to date on vaccinations, worming's, and heartworm negative. Cats are feline leukemia negative. All of our Animals are spayed and neutered and they are all micro-chipped. All of our pets here are kept in foster homes, where they are are assessed for behavior , basic obedience skills. Our fosters watch for 'bad' habits and help correct them. All of our animals are fully temperament tested , and have shown no unprovoked human aggression. We try to match animals with families that will compliment each other. We want the adopters to be as happy as the pets they adopt. We are a small group of people in Muskegon, Michigan dedicated to helping the homeless pet problem, one animal at a time, it may not make a big difference to some, but it makes a huge difference to that animal that now is safe forever. WE promote pediatric SPAY & NEUTERING of ALL PET animals. WE offer life time support with any of our rescue animals WE promote obedience training, and behavioral therapy if needed. WE fully research any breeds we have and place, we do our homework and encourage the potential adopter to also do this.
