We are F~L~E~X~I~B~L~E. We are honest about who are animals are & want to make a good match in our adoption process. We do not want our adopters to feel as though they are being hassled or having to jump through hoops (though some of our dogs will jump through hoops.) We are trying to make our adoption application as efficient & educational as possible. Issues like a fenced-in yard just depend on the dog. Unless so noted in the bio, cats may not be let outside. If the cat is not already declawed, that is not permitted by the new adopters. It is an amputation of the cat's bones & is linked to arthritis, litterbox aversion issues and it's just plain not a nice thing to do to a cat.
Our adoption fees vary based on the animal & the situation but are quite reasonable. We do not believe in 'free to good home' but we have adopted out dogs & cats with very economically sensitive adoption fees. Much of the time, the pets we rescue require vet attention (including spay/neuter) so we strive to recoup as much of our financial investment as we can. This way, we can continue to help the next pet in line.
We will help with referrals to other appropriate rescues if that is so desired by the pet-seeker!

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
