Rescue FAQs

Tiny Paws Dog Rescue was formed in February 2007 to assist small pure and mixed breed dogs (weighing 20 pounds and under) in need. What We Do: We work with shelters, pounds, other rescues, and private individuals to save dogs that might otherwise be euthanized and place those dogs into our private foster homes. We provide standard veterinary care and other needed medical treatment, work on training issues and through our adoption screening process, find new forever homes for the dogs in our care. We also educate the public about the important reasons to spay/neuter pets, the deplorable conditions found in puppy mills, the sources of pet store dogs and the need to adequately care for and train the family pet. Why We Do What We Do: Far too many perfectly healthy, wonderful dogs are euthanized every day because their owners do not know that dog rescues exist and can help. For any number of reasons, an owner may need to find their dog a new home. In addition, there are many dogs that end up in shelters because they have never been adequately trained, suffer from separation anxiety or from treatable health issues. Our reward is finding a loving new home for a dog in need. Where: We do not have a facility. All dogs in our care are placed in private homes and may be viewed during the scheduled home visit as part of the adoption process. We are happy to process adoption inquiries originating from Ontario and western Quebec, Canada for our Tiny Paws dogs. Our Fundraising Endeavours: Our rescue participates in a number of pet related events, as well as holding our own fundraising events.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees are as follows:

0 -2 Years of Age - $375.00
3 -8 Years of Age - $350.00
9+ Years of Age - $250.00

All Adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations and all necessary vetting. We only adopt within Canada. TPDRC places the Dog with no warranty as to the physical condition or temperament of the dog beyond the information provided to us by our veterinary doctors. The Adopter accepts the dog as is with all issues, either observable or unobservable, and assumes all risk for such dog from the date of signing the adoption contract. For more information on the adoption process, visit our website at www.tpdr.ca

We ask that adopters email adoptions.tpdrc@gmail.com to request an adoption application if they see a dog they are interested in adopting. On the application we ask for a vet reference and two personal references. Once the references are checked and approved we contact the potential adopter to set up a home visit. Whenever possible we bring the dog they are interested in adopting along on the home visit.
