We accept fees for shots, deworming, neuter/spaying our animals. We are a non-profit group consisting entirely of volunteers that rescues animals from HIGH KILL SHELTERS. There are adoption papers to be filed and we will subject future pet owners to uphold contracts to provide good homes for our pets.
Currently all our companions are in foster homes, so a pre-screening/pre-approval process is necessary in order to go visit the pet you are interested in adopting. Adopters are subject to vet references, personal reference checks, home visit, and a meet and greet. There is an adoption fee to cover some of the costs as we do not adopt out any animal that has not been fully vetted including spay/neuter, microchip, all vaccines, heartworm test, etc.

We are currently not accepting any owner surrendered pets. We are a group of volunteers who go to high kill animal control facilities where mass gassing or heart sticking is used as euthanasia, and shelters where all animals are euthanized every week. We are finding that in this terrible economy, beloved pets and companions are paying a heavy price, and are being dumped off in droves at kill shelters or "the pound." The pound workers do not tell these owners that their pet only stands less than a 10% chance of being adopted and will be euthanized if not adopted within 3-5 days. Our volunteers go into the shelters, extensively temperament test all dogs we rescue, get them completely vetted, vaccinated, and sterilized, and then work tirelessly to find them suitable forever homes where they will never again know fear, neglect, abuse, or abandonment.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
