Habitat for Horses

We are located in southeast Texas. We don't transport adopted horses (that is the responsibility of the adopter.) And, if the adopter were to return the horse, again the adopter is responsible for the transportation back to the ranch. This is one reason we do not adopt outside the state of Texas. Because it is important to us to know that the horse and their new parents are a good fit, we also require that adopters spend time with their prospective new family member which means a trip to one of our ranches :) Adopting because you like the look of a horse or because they have a good profile sets up the horse and adopter for a failed adoption - meaning the horse is returned to us and that is hard on the horse. We also do follow-ups on our adopted horses! This is an important process as that is how we insure the horse is being well cared for and not in any danger. If you live in a state where we don't have a lot of contacts we have no one to swing by and check on the horse if that is ever needed.
