Rescue FAQs

Three Girls and a Rescue's mission: 1) To help pair fosters with dogs in need at high kill shelters in NC 2) Educate the public on serious topics such as health, behavior and breed information 3) Help promote adoption of animals we have helped save TGR works with various reputable rescue groups throughout the Carolina's and nationwide. We also personally rescue a 11th hour dogs that are sponsored and adopted out by TGR. We focus on, but do not limit ourselves to "misunderstood" breeds, but will take any dog/puppy in the final moment if a rescue/foster is found. All dogs listed on Adopt-a-Pet are with our rescue. Other adoptable dogs can be found at www.facebook.com/threegirlsandarescue While our main goal is to save shelter animals we understand that there are dogs in need that are not currently at a shelter. On certain RARE occasions we will help owners rehome their dogs or help find independent foster dogs homes. Dogs info including picture and story must be sent to threegirlsrescue@gmail.com and approved by one of our administrators before being added to our facebook or other pages. Fosters are the real heroes. We depend on reliable and dedicated fosters to provide housing for our adoptable dogs until adoption. We cannot save these precious babies without a foster home in place. If you are interested in helping please email us at threegirlsrescue@gmail.com and we will pair you with a dog in need.
Three Girls and a Rescue are based out of Charlotte, NC. To adopt from TGR you must live in an area where a where a home visit can be done and transportation can be provided.

Additional adoption info

Three Girls and a Rescue has a very thorough adoption process to ensure each animal is being placed in the right environment. If you are interested in adopting one of our animals you must fill out an adoption application. Once the application is approved a home visit will be scheduled and a reference check will be done. A TGR volunteer will come to your home for an interview to ensure that your house is safe, and that your lifestyle is the right fit for the animal that you are interested in adopting. After these things have been completed successfully you will be ready to adopt your new pet! Our fees are $250 for puppies, $200 for adult dogs and $175 for seniors and "long timers"

To adopt a pet from TGR you must have all of your pets spayed/neutered and UTD on shots, provide a fenced in yard or exercise daily, must be willing to provide training when necessary, must provide healthy meals and water for your pet, must keep your pet on heartworm and flea medicine and your animal MUST live indoors.
