Rescue FAQs

Our mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding homes for their pets. Since we help people receiving hospice care, heading into nursing homes, or families after the pet owner died, we often receive older animals. WE value older animals and cherish all that they can offer to their new family. We do not have a physical facility, so we rely on volunteers to foster the pets in their home until they are adopted.
We are located in West Michigan and do allow out of state adoptions.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
Please feel free to email us with questions and for further information about the animal prior to submitting an application.
  2. Interview
We email and call you for further clarification of application answers and to answer any questions you may have.
  3. Meet the Pet
We will have the foster parent available if possible when you meet the animal so you can get further information about the pets day to day.
  4. Take the Pet Home
The dog or cat comes with instructions from the foster parent so you can continue their routine.

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out (available at www.tysonsplacerescue.org). If you have a dog at home and want to adopt a dog, we would require that the dogs meet prior to adoption. Our dog adoption fee ranges from $75 to $175 based on age, and our cat adoption fee is $40.
