Rona's Story...
This beautiful young lady is Rona, an 1 year old foxhound that would just love a great place to call home. Rona came to us from a rescue that took her from the south as a puppy. She was in a foster home in NY, but the noises of a busy city frightened Rona quite a bit so she headed down to us at Popcorn Park. Rona is an energetic and playful girl that has a lot of puppy in her still. She is well behaved and will sit nicely when asked, but she is still a little puppyish on a leash. She just needs some basic training and she is happy to learn. Rona is very sweet and affectionate and just loves people. She is happy to stand on her hind legs and give you a hug, and even when she's running and playing in our exercise yard, she will check in with you periodically to get some attention. Rona is very excited to meet other dogs and once she gets to know them, she likes them just fine. She will need a home with no cats. Rona loves people of all ages and would fit in perfectly with any loving family. Rona has yet to experience what it's like to have a home and family of her own.....she's eager to find out what that's all about! File#24225 12/13/14

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rona, a Forked River Foxhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Foxhound for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Foxhound dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Foxhound breeders who help with Foxhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
