Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When Callie's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the adorable (and extremely dirty and matted) Callie tucked tightly into a cage...her time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this Poodle is..and the need to save her life. We immediately agreed and Callie became a very treasured Farfel's dog. She earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with her great personality and kind and positive attitude toward the world. At about 3 - 3.5 years old and 13 lbs, this very beautiful pup is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best dog she's capable of being. We'd love to match Callie to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable girl. She's a perfect size to accompany her family just about anywhere...and would love it. Positive reinforcement group obedience class will not only provide socialization and great skills...but will cement the relationship between Callie and her family. Callie gets lots of attention when she's out and about...she's very engaging (while a bit shy at first) and as sweet as can be. She's also extremely eye-catching...she appears to be a purebred Poodle but we would never swear to it. We just don't see another breed in this beautiful dog. When Callie turns that gentle look in your direction, you can't help but smile at her adorable ways. You can see just a bit of a sign that this young pup has had difficult times. But not for her to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Callie's style. It's clear that Callie has left any pain behind.
Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family (or with older kids 12+) for Callie. It''s not that she doesn't like young kids...we just feel she wouldn't be comfortable with any tail-pulling or awkward carrying. A retired couple or individual would be perfect for this girl. She would thrive on the time and attention that retirees often put into their pets. Callie, once bonded, will be a loyal and positive companion....that makes her very easy to spend time with just enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado. Callie would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who can be gentle playmates. When you're only 13 lbs, even a very well-adjusted puppy can be intimidated by large, rambunctious dogs
.
We have posted a new photo of Callie from her arrival on Transport in Denver. She got a rudimentary haircut at her foster in Texas (thanks so much) but will be truly Poodle-beautiful with a professional bath and hairdo.
Callie is in a foster home in Denver and available for a Meet and Greet. Applications are being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
