Dora's Story...
Dora was recently rescued from MDAS where she was at high-risk of being euthanized. She was part of a confiscation situation and as a result has been very neglected and poorly cared for. She is a VERY SWEET and GENTLE Chihuahua! She is about 9 years old and weighs just 8.5 lbs. She is much smaller in person than she appears to be in her pictures! She bonds quickly to one person and is need of loving home and someone who will care for her. She is very quiet and doesn't bark. We renamed her Dora after "Dora the explorer" because she loves to explore! She is up-to-date on shots, spayed, housetrained, micro-chipped, and vetted. She is currently in the care of one of Happy Tails' foster homes. If you would like to meet Dora, please email us at adopt@happytailsdogrescue.org or call us at #(201) 892-3959!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dora, a Ocean Ridge Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Ocean Ridge, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Ocean Ridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ocean Ridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ocean Ridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ocean Ridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
