My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cairo is a 4-year-old Siberian Husky who is looking for a loving home. We are assisting Blind Dog Rescue Alliance with finding Cairo a home. Cairo's owner got him as a puppy when his litter was going to be taken to a shelter. Unfortunately, due to changing work, school, housing, and living circumstances his owner is no longer able to care for Cairo. Cairo is an outdoor dog who needs a home that has a fenced-in yard. He's not housebroken, or leash trained. However, he has learned commands for Sit, Stay, Down, and High-Five (Paw)! Cairo is an outgoing pup who is good with men, women, and teenagers. He's also good with other male dogs and is currently living with a Chihuahua. Cairo has not been around cats or children. Cairo is not aggressive and has no bite history. He has not shown any possessiveness with treats, toys, or food. He adapts well and quickly to new situations and surroundings. When Cairo was a year and a half old, he began having problems with his eyes. He has been to a veterinary ophthalmologist who diagnosed him with a few eye-related conditions which are now under control. He is currently only taking Cyclosporine. Cairo is currently located in Miami, Florida. If you are interested in learning more about Cairo, PLEASE CONTACT Cindy of Blind Dog Rescue Alliance via email at cindypuppiesndogs@gmail.com or OS@BlindDogRescue.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our goal is to make the adoption process as thorough and easy as possible. If you are interested in adopting a dog, the first thing we will ask you to do is complete our online Adoption Application. Upon review of your application, a decision to approve or decline will be made. If approved, we will schedule a time for your to meet the dog you are interested in adopting. If there is a match, a home visit will be conducted before the final adoption decision is made. Once the final approval is made, an Adoption Agreement is signed and the adoption is complete.

More about this rescue

Happy Tails Dog Rescue is a foster-based registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, vetting, and rehoming dogs from kill shelters in Southern Florida. We are a husband and wife team, together with a small team of volunteers who rescue, vet dogs, and rehome dogs who are about to be euthanized. It is our goal to provide the necessary veterinary care, grooming, and attention they may need to ultimately place them in forever homes.
