Scooter's Story...
Scooter is a cuddle bug. This little fella is a 12 pound, 9 year old Dachshund. Scooter loves to be with his
people to snuggle and be held. He sleeps right beside you at night. Scooter is great on a leash and stays
right beside you. When you call him he comes right to you.
Scooter was found literally frozen to the parking lot one morning at a vet clinic when they opened. The
actual temperatures without the wind chill were below zero. The vet clinic came to Scooter’s aid, freed
him from the ice and warmed him up slowly. They were not sure Scooter would survive. Scooter is a
strong little guy! He spent several weeks with the vet clinic recovering and then came into our care.
Scooter is housetrained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped. He
does well with other dogs and cats. His ideal home would be with anyone who wants a lap baby to
cuddle. Scooter will follow you around the house and keep you warm at night.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scooter, a Lisbon Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Lisbon, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Lisbon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lisbon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lisbon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lisbon paves the way for another one to be saved.
