Nancy's Story...
3 yr old 16 lb Skye terrier mix Nancy - located in NYC

Nancy is a 16 lb. 2 year old Skye Terrier mix. Her hair was so severely matted when she ended up at the shelter, so she had to be shaved down, but when it grows back she will be a beauty! Even if she was neglected in her previous life, Nancy has the sweetest disposition. She is very playful and affectionate and loves to cuddle. She gets very excited when you walk in the door and is happy just to sit quietly with you. Nancy get along great with her foster siblings, who are two large dogs and has interacted beautifully with all of the dogs she meets on her daily walks in New York's Central Park. Nancy needed a little remedial house training when she first arrived, but she's great now and hasn't had any accidents. This little girl will be a wonderful family pet!
Nancy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and vetting, microchipped and recently groomed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nancy, a New York Skye Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Skye Terrier for sale in New York, or seeking a Skye Terrier dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Skye Terrier breeders who help with Skye Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
