This big, beautiful girl is Maci, an 8 1/2 year old German shepherd that is really hoping to get noticed soon, and start her life over again. Maci was adopted from us six years ago but was turned in recently because her owners were moving, and couldn't take her along. Maci was, quite honestly, devastated to be given up by her family and for the first few days, she sat huddled in a corner, not wanting to know anyone. We gave her lots of extra attention and finally earned her trust and now Maci is enjoying going for long, leisurely strolls, and even enjoys running and playing in our exercise yard. Maci is the kind of girl that bonds quickly with a few people and then becomes very protective of them. This behavior was never really corrected in her former home but she will need work in that area and learn to trust more people, not just a select few. Maci is very well behave and while she is big and strong, she will sit nicely when asked and bow her head to you and roll on her back for you to give her a big belly rub. She is very affectionate and friendly when she gets to know you and will be your loyal companion and best buddy for life. She doesn't seem to mind other dogs much and would do best in a home with more mature children. Maci is ready to move on with her life with a family that will love her and never let her go again.
