Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Harvey and I am a one year old, 32 lb. male beagle. As you can see I am a very handsome boy with extra long ears. I ended up in ashelter in southern Indiana. I’m not sure why as I am a very sweet and loving boy. At first I am a bit shy but I will warm up to you in no time. I’m a little scared of loud noises but I’m getting better each day. Foster mom has been working very hard with me. I didn’t know how to walk on a leash so she takes me for a walk every day and I am getting better. I love my walks! Some days she puts me in a crate in her car and we go to the park to walk. I’m getting used to riding in a car and it’s really not so bad.
When I first got here I hated my crate. I even escaped the first night. The 2nd night I tore up a nice dog bed. So instead of making me sleep in it she started feeding me in my crate twice a day. Little by little I wasn’t so scared of it. Last night for the first time in over 2 weeks I made it thru half of the night in my crate. I really just want to sleep in bed with my foster parents as I just love to be close to them.
I love to run and play in the fenced back yard and would make a great second dog as I love the other dogs in my foster home and encourage them to play with me. When they won’t play with me I entertain myself by playing with my toy box full of toys. I love to carry toys around and will throw them in the air and chase them. I will sure bring a smile to your face. Although I love soft squeaky toys, I have learned how to de-stuff them. Chewing on an Elk antler keeps me busy for hours. After play time I am just a couch potato and will curl up on the couch for a nap.
Foster mom has been working on my house training and I’ve been doing very well. I have learned how to use the doggie door and when I have to potty I go outside.
At the end of the day I just want to lie down next to foster mom and get love. I’ll even lie on my back for a belly rub.
Will you give me that wonderful home that I am looking for? Foster mom would love to talk to you about me.
