Stewart's Story...
"Stewart" is a delightful 4-month old male kitten who was surrendered by his owner on December 23, 2015 along with his brother (Sweetie) and several of their friends who shared their previous home. "Stewart" has a brown short smooth coat in a beautiful swirled tabby pattern, a long ringed tail, and an adorable face with the sweetest expressions. This precious little boy has the most lovable, playful personality and has a real zest for life. "Stewart" had a injury to his right front leg when he entered our shelter, and we feared that he would be a special needs kitty .. but he has been examined/treated by a veterinarian and was walking/running around like any other young kitten when these photos were taken on January 19th :) "Stewart & Sweetie" have both been combo tested and are negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm. They have been enjoying the hospitality of a wonderful foster home since December 30, 2015 where they are being given extra TLC. They are available for adoption/rescue by calling the HSOV at 740.373.5959 or by sending an email to manager@hsov.org Rescue groups may also contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stewart, a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
