My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cocoa is a 21 pound senior with a beautiful white mask on her face. She vies for all the attention she can get and loves to be petted and brushed. She also loves her foster family’s fenced yard and explores every inch staying out much longer than the other 3 dogs which make up her foster family. Although her eyes are cloudy she is able to spot squirrels in the trees faster than any of the other dogs and loves to howl at them! In fact the 3 year old beagle foster brother sometimes can’t even find the squirrels that Cocoa sees.

Cocoa can also do silly things like the day she was caught sleeping in a box instead of her dog bed! It was so cute we had to have a picture.

She is very spry for an older lady and easily jumps to the couch for her daily snoozes. She comes when called and sits very nicely for treats, taking them very gently. Cocoa is completely housebroken. She has never been crated. She LOVES to go for walks and car rides although she tends to wander from side to side when walked and likes to ‘talk’ in the car until she settles down.

Cocoa is such as sweet, gentle girl and gets along with all the other dogs in the house. She loves to greet visitors to the house and has been good around the children who have visited although, because she doesn’t play much, would probably not do well in a home with children. She may do well in an apartment because she isn’t very active. She would do well with other dogs but would not want to play with them so wouldn’t want a young dog as a sibling.

Cocoa hopes you will open your heart to her and give her a forever home. She was surrendered by her long term owner due to the owner having cancer and being unable to care for her but she walked into our foster home just like she owned it and settled in immediately
