My name is Blue (although I am really more of a luscious honey and grey in color- the only blue you will find on me is my collar that I currently don!) I am a beautiful blend of Weimaraner and Pit Bull. Despite my stunning good looks, I was surrendered to the NYC animal shelter. Everyone at the shelter loved me, I was well behaved and was able to show off my big boy doggy skills, like “sit” and “give paw”.
Thanks to a wonderful foster who saw my potential to be an awesome canine companion,I was rescued from the city shelter and I am thriving in my foster home. She knew how much I love all people and even kids, though I am better suited for older kids, because I am so active. If you let me, I will sit in your lap and smother you with my glorious doggy kisses! Ohhhh and let me mention again….everyone tells me how handsome I am.
I am a very smart boy who knows sit and stay (I take treats ever so gently!), I am housetrained, 100%!!!! My leash manners are improving, but I still pull with excitement when I see other dogs out on my walks. I haven’t quite fallen in love with my crate, I would rather be on top of it than in it, but I am learning that it isn’t such a horrible place to be since it keeps me safe. I would do best with a patient person who is willing to continue to work with me on these things so that I blossom into a well-mannered adult.
Some of my favorite things are frozen raw beef bones, going for car rides, playing tug with my ropes, and wubba kong toys. Oh, and when you have to leave the house….don’t worry….you will find it just like you left it.
I would love to be a part of an active family who can get me out on hikes, or I can definitely be a great running partner!
