Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Bridget. I am a small girl weighing in at 25 lbs. and am approximately 3 years old. I came to Midwest Brew after I ended up in a shelter when I was surrendered from a breeder/hoarder situation. Not much is known about my past, but my foster mom suspects I was abused, neglected and left outside with little human interaction. As a result, I am most comfortable in the company of other dogs. However, I am getting more trusting and secure in my foster home every day. A furry friend is a must on my wish list for my forever home!
I was shy and startled easy with unknown noises, new things, and new people when I first got here. I have been with my foster mom a few months now, and am gaining confidence with routine and security. Just like all beagles I love my food and will do a happy dance and turn in circles when foster mommy is preparing it. I crack her up and make her smile every time. I will snuggle on the couch with her as long as her dog is with me or close by. When strangers come in I still run and hide in my crate. It is my safe place.
At first I was terrified of a leash but I'm learning that they aren’t so bad and my foster mom is working with me on walks. I am still nervous when cars go by or strangers walk up, but we keep working on it. I like my crate and stay in it when my foster mom is at work. I do have a neighbor come over and let me out to potty at lunch time. I am house trained.
I have made new friends at my foster home, a large dog, a couple of cats, and even some birds. I am very attached to the big dog and foster mom thinks I will do best with a confident furry friend. I like to run in the back yard with my doggie friend so a secured fenced in yard would be a big plus for me to play safely. I am very playful and love my toys. Chew bones are great too. I am very happy when foster mom gets home from work as I know she loves me and I’ve never really known love before. I’m pretty sure I can learn to love my forever family too!
Although I ride well crated in the car, I am much more fearful away from home. Slowly but surely I am learning not to be afraid of everything!
Foster Mom’s note: Bridget is a sweet girl who is looking for a special home who understands that she is still learning to trust people and that it may take considerable time for her to enjoy attention from the humans in her family. If you have that to offer please let Midwest BREW know, and we will be happy to tell you more about her
