Monkee's Story...
Monkee once lived the life of a pampered indoor only kitty. One day his pet daddy decided he wanted a younger model, so he adopted a new kitten and put Monkee outside. He still fed him but Monkee was thrown out to live on the front porch in all kind of weather. One day the pet daddy decided to move to a different location, and left, taking the new cat with him and leaving Monkee behind. Kindhearted neighbors cared for him and reached out to us to help him. Monkee is a darling boy, sweet, gentle and loves nothing more than to curl up on a bed. He is new to the rescue so we do not have all his health details yet, but he is approximately 7-8 years old, already neutered, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. He is litter box trained and a very clean cat. Monkee deserves to come in from the cold permanently, to someone's warm cozy house, filled with the love he used to have. We require our cats to be adopted to an indoor-only home. Monkee, especially, deserves it. We require an application, safety home check, and adoption fee of $70 for cats over the age of 7 years. discounts available to seniors, military/veterans and proof of disability. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Monkee, a Eureka Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Eureka, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Eureka.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Eureka already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Eureka breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Eureka paves the way for another one to be saved.
