Betsy (Spayed)'s Story...
"Betsy" is a beautiful female kitten who was brought to the HSOV on July 4, 2016 along with her brothers (Sammy & Patriot) after they were found in the Belpre Ohio area. Sadly, her brother "Patriot" did not survive :( "Betsy" has a brown tabby short smooth coat, a long tail, and a darling kitten face. She and her brothers had severe eye infections when they entered our shelter, but thanks to the excellent care they were given by our compassionate kennel techs, they are looking great these days. Betsy's eyes are still a bit cloudy but she appears to have good vision. "Betsy" is a happy, playful little girl who dearly loves her brother Sammy. They have not been separated since birth, and we'd love to see them find a home together. "Betsy" and her brother will be available for adoption as soon as they are spayed/neutered. UPDATE: "Betsy was spayed on September 28, 2016 and "Sammy" was neutered on the same day. They were also given rabies vaccine. They are now available for adoption/rescue/foster.. Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues/fosters.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Betsy (Spayed), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
