Harvey's Story...
Harvey is a very playful 5 month old kitten. She especially loves wand toys and laser pointers. She will take them and carry them off when she catches the toy on the end. She is great with other cats, and especially loves her sister Matilda as well as the tiny foster kittens she is housed with. She is not so inclined to be held for long, but loves to be pet. She is leery of big dogs currently but does very well with smaller dogs. She loves to be brushed.

Please complete an online adoption application at petpromise.org/adoption-application if you are interested in adopting Harvey, and a volunteer adoption counselor will contact you.

PETPROMISE DOES NOT HAVE A SHELTER. Our pets are housed in volunteer foster homes while awaiting adoption. We do our best to ensure that all of the PetPromise pets and their new owners are the perfect match. For that reason the adoption process may take several days to complete and includes a mandatory home visit. We do our best to ensure that the adoption of the pet is "for life."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harvey, a Columbus Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Columbus, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Columbus.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbus already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbus breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbus paves the way for another one to be saved.
