Hi! My name is Brody. I am approximately 3 years old and weigh about 30 pounds. I have gorgeous eyes and a beautiful coat of black and brown with some ticking on my neck and tail. I’ve had a pretty tough time lately; I was dumped by the side of the road and was heartworm positive when Midwest BREW rescued me. I’ve gone through the treatment for heartworms, and I’m all better! You just need to give me a HeartGard medication every thirty days and regular checkups, and I’ll be fine! I was extremely scared when I got to my foster home, and I’m still a bit timid and skittish. I was afraid of everything, but I’m learning to love the good life now!
I do get anxious and nervous on a car ride, and also in a crate, so I will need some patience and help. I do well just sleeping on the floor or a dog bed though, and haven’t gotten into much trouble. I do better sticking close by my humans! My foster home has a doggy door and a fenced back yard so I am doing great on potty training. Sometimes I have an accident out of fear, but that is happening less often. I might need a little guidance if you don’t have a doggy door, but I do potty on a leash. And I love taking walks!
I do love to be scratched and petted, and I’m learning that snuggling can be a good thing. I love to run and play. I especially like playing tug of war and wrestling with my foster sister. She helps teach me the ropes and gain confidence. I would love to have a playmate in my forever home to continue to help me grow. I don’t like to be left alone, and another dog to give me support is just what I need. Foster mom says I am gaining confidence every day! I am working on being more social around other dogs and people. A training class would probably help with that, and get us off to a good start. And a nearby dog park might be fun for both of us!
So, if you are looking for an energetic young boy, have some patience to help me get past my fears, and are ready to adopt, contact Midwest BREW and ask about me- Brody!

About Midwest Beagle Rescue, Education and Welfare - Western PA

About Our Rescue Group...

Midwest Beagle Rescue, Education and Welfare, Inc is a 501(c)3 non profit, all-volunteer organization located in the Midwest, funded by donations and dedicated to rescuing beagles from high-kill shelters. Our foster homes provide loving temporary care until we are able to find them well matched, carefully screened forever homes. By working with local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities we are able to give proper medical care to the beagles in our program. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition. We adopt beagles to families within Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, western Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and have also placed beagles into loving homes in Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri.
