With his lustrous coat and happy prance, Niko can put a smile on your face if you are willing to sit back and let him charm you. This sweet boy is ready to meet his forever family that is willing to let him be who he is as he continues to experience the world as we know it. Niko has great sensitivity, and a huge warm side to him, that grows deeper with devotion to the humans in his life as he gets to know them and begins to feel comfortable in his surroundings. His favorite past time is to chew on his bone on his dog bed and hang out in the fenced yard and watch the squirrels race by. He asks for very little and enjoys being the center of attention especially when that attention involves being brushed! His foster mom enjoys mentoring him in her home environment and has been amazed at how quickly he learns what she is teaching him at any particular moment. Niko is gentle and a gentlemen in his surroundings, he is not a barker, he is eager to learn and he is attentive. We are looking for a calm home with no cats or young children along with a fenced in yard for Niko to become one with. He is fully vetted and up to date with all vaccines. Niko's left eye is non functioning from a very old injury which does not cause pain and does not require any medication. Niko is ready for his forever family. If you are looking for devotion, some occasional silliness and a very handsome companion to hang out by your side please contact Ricky at email@example.com to find out more about him and set up time to meet him. Please include a phone number where you can be reached.
Niko's estimated birth year is 2011. He's a black lab, flat coat retriever collie mix…..he weighs about 50 lbs.
Smiling Dog Farms is a sanctuary for the forgotten, neglected and rejected. Our dogs come from shelters and rescues all across America. All dogs that are deemed adoptable are up to date on shots, spayed or neutered, and on heartworm prevention. Many of our dogs live in Wharton Texas, but we have very safe, reliable transport to the northeastern states.
Our sanctuary dogs that have been deemed “unadoptable” because they have bitten someone, or have other behavioral challenges, have a safe home with us for their lifetime and are also up to date on shots, sterilized and on heartworm prevention.
Our Adoption Process...
Most of the dogs that come to our Sanctuary have had a scary background of being left to die in animal shelters across the country. Understandably, we are very careful in our approving our adoptions as we are dedicated to ensuring that this dogs truly go to a "forever" home. As a result, our process is stringent, requiring an application, home visit, vet and reference checks and an adoption contract. We want the adoption to be a match made in heaven for both the new adoptive parents and the adopted dog.
