Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Newt is a 4 month old male Australian Cattle Dog Mix. He is smart, full of energy and very social. Newt enjoys playing with big dogs, attempting to play with cats and winding down with something he can chew on or snuggling. He has been fostered in a busy household and loves excitement.
Newt is currently working on crate and potty training and has some separation anxiety, as he loves to be with other critters or people.
He has learned his basic commands and is always eager to learn more!
He enjoys having toys and food bowls to himself, therefore we are currently working on resource guarding and patience.
Newt would do best in a busy household where there is always something to do or places to explore. Newt enjoys hiking with dog pals and greeting children.
Newt requires:
- a family with experience with herding/working breeds
- an active family
- CANNOT be in a crate 4-9 hours of the day; would do best with someone who works from home or has flexibility
- a fenced in yard
- would enjoy another dog/cat in the home
- most important: Patience. Newt will need to acclimate to a new environment, as he has been a few places in his tiny life so far and needs guidance and patience.
