MEET FRECKLES!
This spunky little senior's name is Freckles! Freckles is a 13 year old Purebred Dapple Dachshund who was surrendered to City of Elderly Love because her previous family couldn't afford to care for her any longer. She was very happy to bypass the shelter system and is ready to land her dream forever home!
Freckles is a petite girl, weighing in around 11 lbs. Her favorites hobbies include cuddling (in your lap, of course), chasing her toys around the house - especially those that squeak, and building little nests in blankets so she can be as cozy as possible. Freckles is currently living with other dogs, both large and small and is friendly and appropriate with them though she does get annoyed if they try to take her beloved toys away. She would likely be happiest in a home without other dogs or with another laid-back dog like herself who won't demand her attention. We're not sure how she is with cats at this time. Freckles is also living with children and gets along with them great! In fact, she really loves to meet all types of people! She is also housebroken once on a set walk schedule (little dog, little bladder!) and is crate trained!
Freckles was surrendered to us due to the cost to treat her chronic skin and ear infections. However, with a round of antibiotics and a healthy diet, her skin and ears are looking and feeling better than they have in a long time. We recommend that she stay on a grain-free diet and she may need additional vet care in the future if she has any trouble in the future. Other than that, she's in great shape and while a senior by age, has great energy and lots of love left to offer!
