My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zuli is a sweet, gentle little girl! Did we mention, gorgeous? She is equally shy and playful. Watch the video here! She likes to snuggle in nooks and bat around mouse toys. She is young and curious when given the opportunity to explore. It would be wonderful for Zuli to find a loving home to play out her kitty months. Her brother Rusty (yellow tabby) is also a true sweetie.

Our AWF Volunteer fostering Zuli had wonderful things to share about her:

"Zuli was pretty stressed by the regular activity and noise at the Foundation when she first arrived. For a young cat with little experience with humans and very dependent on her brother to comfort her, of course it would've been overwhelming!

None of her behavior would have been a surprise for anyone familiar with under-socialized animals. She was extremely scared of loud sounds, bright open rooms, people, quick movements, etc.. She seemed to feel way more confortable under things, and in dark corners. Despite this, she was still a perfect guest, sneaking out of her safe spots at night to eat, drink, and use her litter box.

Zuli's been progressing daily at a really amazing rate. Her confidence grows by the hour, and it's become very clear that she just needed a little time to come out of her shell, get comfortable with new people, new spaces, new sounds, and remember what it's like to be a kitten with fun cat toys and play time. She still likes to find nice quiet spots to nap and feel protected and secure in, but she is INCREDIBLY loving and purrs happily for hours when she's near someone she trusts. Loves head scratches, loves petting, loves chasing mouse-on-a-string toys, loves laying by/on her trusted humans, loves being loved! With a little understanding and patience, she's going to be an amazing addition to someone's life!"

And an update, when she re-visited the volunteer's house:

"Zuli marched out of her travel crate, knew exactly where she was, and within about 10 minutes she was laying on my computer keyboard, thrilled to be getting attention and petting! She explored the room, and found a new favorite past time at the window, enjoying watching the cars and people outside. Her favorite places are still melting on or next to her favorite human. She's just the best!"
