Aaron's Story...
This lovable little guy came to us as a stray that no one ever came looking for. Poor Aaron was so shy at first but once he realized he was in good hands, he came out of his shell and never looked back. Aaron is only about a year old and this border collie mix is still shy when he meets new people, but just give him a minute to check you out and he'll soon start bouncing around, hoping that you'll play with him. Aaron has lots of puppyish energy and is always ready to have fun. He has had training in his young life and sits instantly when asked, takes treats very gently, and walks well on a leash. Aaron could use a little training with some mouthiness while playing, so he will need a home with no kids under 10. He is super sweet, bubbly and he's talkative too. He seems excited to meet other dogs and would likely be fine with dogs around his size. Aaron will bring lots of joy and fun to the family that welcomes him home. File#27063 2/28/17

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Aaron, a Forked River Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
