Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET BONNIE!
Oh what a story Bonnie has to tell! This tiny ~12 year old Domestic Longhair Tabico (Tabby/Calico) was found as a stray in early Spring and was brought to Philly's animal control shelter. Much to the shelter staff's surprise, this beautiful senior lady GAVE BIRTH to two healthy kittens in her kennel that very night! Because the shelter is no place for a senior cat, especially a senior MOM, the shelter staff asked City of Elderly Love for help.
Bonnie spent the next few months raising and diligently caring for her babies. Once they were successfully weened and found their own personalities, Bonnie was able to be spayed (no more kittens for her!) and headed to a new foster home so she could get a much deserved break from their kitten shenanigans. We're now getting to know Bonnie as an individual and boy, does she have a personality! We've learned that Bonnie is used to living with other cats and while she can be. But standoffish at first, she would likely do well with cats in her future home with an appropriate introduction. Unfortunately, Bonnie is not a fan of dogs and does not want to live with them.
Bonnie is a tiny girl (with a big, fluffy coat!) who weighs around 7 lbs. and who will always look like a kitten. She has a stunning, super soft coat that is still filling in from thinning out while a stray without flea protection. Bonnie will meow, purr like a motorboat, and make "air biscuits" (knead her paws) whenever she gets attention. She loves head scratches! She'll lay on top of you, against you, rub against your legs, she just loves to be near her people! However, Bonnie has a low threshold for the amount of attention she likes to receive. When she's done, Bonnie will swat and nip at you to let you know that she's had enough. Though she'll still happily lay on top of you. Because of this and because she has spent most (if not all) of her life as a Community Cat on the Philly streets, we feel that Bonnie would be happiest in an indoor/outdoor where she can come and go as she pleases. She also needs a home without children.
Bonnie is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and is FIV and FeLV negative. She also recently had her teeth cleaned by our vet!
