My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

http://www.valleydogs.org/dogs/other_yuko.html
Hello my name is Yuko. My rescue family will let you know about me. But, I am a good girl who loves kids and other dogs. I am submissive and ready for a new home.

My foster mom’s story: On Thursday we notice a dog hanging out and looking very tired, cold and hungry laying behind our back fence. We had to go to softball practice so we left her there. When we returned from practice she was still there. My son went over to her and she was very timid and extremely hand shy but she came right to him. When we tried to put her on a leash she just laid down and was very submissive.

We brought her home and fed and water her. We found her to be very sweet. We have three big dogs, a shar pei, a pit mix and a Great Dane, they are all very very spoiled so I think that Yuko was very over whelmed with how much attention they get.

That night we let her sleep with my daughter away from the other dogs, she was very tired and just slept and slept. The next day we took her the vet who scanned her for a micro chip. Unfortunately there was not one.

After about an hour it was like they (the other dogs) didn’t even care that she was there! Since Thursday we have successfully taught her to use the doggy door. She does not get on the sofa (that we know of). She plays very well with our Great Dane! She sleeps with my daughter every night and does not move an inch away from her!

She can catch tennis balls in the air, sit, stay and she loves doggie cookies! She is very sweet but it is very clear that she has not been treated the best as she can shy away with a quick motion. She also is very scared to be “put “outside the door so we never force her out side. Now that she knows how to use the doggie door this is not an issue.

She goes to the submissive back position a lot so we ignore this behavior when she does this and it seems to be getting better. She never really barks and when she does she is not very loud. We have a cat but either she has not figured it out yet or she just doesn’t care.

Yuko comes out of her shell a little bit every day but she will need lots of love and she has so much to give!
