Poppy's Story...
http://www.valleydogs.org/cp_poppy.html

Please adopt me! I am a sweet, female staffie / boxer-mix, about 1-yr-old. I was abandoned on the streets of Phoenix and although some nice people took me in and fattened me up (and had me spayed), I need to find my forever home. I play well with other dogs and like all people. I probably would do best with older kids because I can be a bit rambunctious.
I have lots of energy, and I love to run, play soccer ball, and chase lizards. I can be a bit of a clown when I start tossing my toys in the air. I also enjoy my quiet times cuddling with my people and chewing on bones and antlers. I am learning many commands (sit, stay, come, up, down, off) and am getting better at walking nicely on a leash. I weight about 55 lbs and am a big eater. I am very pretty, with a red-brown coat and white legs. I do have a mild skin allergy, but weekly oatmeal-soap baths should keep my coat in good shape. I have not yet met a cat, but I would probably want to play with it.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poppy, a Gilbert Boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier puppy from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with Boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
