SONNY's Story...
10/11/11-----If you like Pointers you'll love Sonny!! Not a demanding type boy -- loves attention but not overly excitable....Waiting over 6 months in rescue for a permanent home.... -------Sonny was found residing in a rural dog pound - quite skinny at 32 pounds! Quiet boy, his time there was up and Dogworks rescued him out of harms way. Sonny is a small English Pointer at 5-6 years of age and currently 39 pounds. White coat with a few orangey spots......nice disposition and not overly exciteable. Somewhat mellow -- until he gets outside....energy then increasing. Typical of an E.P. Neutered, vaccines up to date and heartworm negative. Adoption fee $160

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SONNY, a Oregon Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer for sale in Oregon, or seeking a Pointer dog from a breeder in Oregon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oregon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oregon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer breeders who help with Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oregon paves the way for another one to be saved.
