My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

http://www.valleydogs.org/scooter.html -- Hello, my name is Scooter. My foster mommy named me that because I ride low to the ground like an old-fashioned scooter board. I was pulled out of Maricopa County Animal Care and Control and given another chance at life. I am so grateful and can’t wait to meet my new family and give them all the love I have stored up in my tiny body.

I am a bit shy until I get to know you, but once I know you won’t hurt me I love to follow you around, roll over for tummy rubs and sit back on my hunches to get your attention. I am a pretty mellow fellow and love to sit next to you on the couch or lay with you in bed. Because of my short legs I cannot jump up onto furniture and it is not good for me to jump down off of furniture (it can hurt my spine). Steps or a ramp would be best so I don’t hurt myself, but I love to be up with my humans so please don’t leave me on the floor by myself. The house steps in my mommy’s home are hard for me to navigate, so I usually stay downstairs if she doesn’t carry me upstairs with her.

Don’t let my little legs fool you though – I love my walks and outside time with my humans. I may be little – but I am mighty.

Mommy says I am very good about going potty outside – I have been able to hold it while she is at work during the day and if I can’t, I go outside on the patio- I know how to use the doggie door. I have four other dogs I am living with and we all do well together. There are times they get a little rambunctious for me and I will find a quiet place out of the way, but I would enjoy having a mellow doggie companion if that could be arranged.

Do I sound like a good fit for your life? If so, please contact mommy to make arrangements to meet me. I am anxiously awaiting my new family and hope to meet them very soon.

Wouldn’t you like to meet me? If so, please complete an adoption interest form and email adopt@valleydogs.org
