Shasta's Story...
http://www.valleydogs.org/shasta.html -- Hi, I am Shasta.

I am 6 YR OLD Fun loving girl but I need to be an only dog and would be best in a home with no children because I like to practice herding. I love hanging with the Adults, being petted, brushed and belly rubs. I am very sweet and need a job!

Yes as border collie I love to please and keep busy. I LOVE Walks and going places with my humans. Walks would help me take off these few pounds I have gained, so if you like walks, I am your gal. A hike would be even better!

I Love to give kisses and enjoy a big hug. I am crate and house trained, No accidents by me! I know many basic commands and love doing them for treats. I am a pretty Mellow gal so if you’re looking for a companion to just hang with, I am that low key kinda gal.

So, do you have a ball to play with? A hike to take? Come check me out and see what a great gal I am.

For more information or to meet me, please complete an Adoption Interest form and please email mwest@valleydogs.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shasta, a Gilbert Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
