Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sura had a rough start, rescued from a puppy mill where she lived in a small, filthy crate with many other puppies. Due to the poor living conditions she lost her left hind leg and part of her tail. Sura does not let this loss stop her. She is a good companion on walks and runs. She is so expressive with her eyes, ears, and sounds, howling at sirens and "talking" when excited. Sura is smart; she knows how to sit, lie down, stay, and heel. She will also come to you right away if you say, "Good girl!" She will need a fenced yard or an adopter who will take her running several miles daily. She cannot be let outside off-leash - she's a husky, and she will take off running, as she was born to do!
Sura has blossomed in a foster home with other dogs and a routine schedule. She ignores cats, although she will look at them curiously if they try to play with her. We have found that she is also fine with children, trying to follow them at adoption events, as long as they are old enough not to shove or lean on her - she can't maintain her balance, which understandably frightens her.
Sura deserves to be part of a loving family, especially after all the harm that humans caused her so early in her life. Can you open your heart and your home to Sura? Please complete an online application today!
