My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Loyal is a loving, smart, 1½ yr old spayed female with loads of personality and a real sense of humor! She is a Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix. She currently weighs about 70 lbs.

Loyal is initially a bit shy towards strangers, but she quickly warms up and becomes very affectionate with the proper introduction and some yummy treats! Loyal’s former owner was seen dumping her out of his truck and then speeding away. Frightened and confused, she stayed in the same spot for 6 days waiting for her owner to return, until she was temporarily taken in by a concerned neighbor.

Currently, Loyal is staying with the well-known Tucson dog trainer Anthony Holcomb of Anthony’s K-9 Academy. There she hangs out with Anthony’s wife, his 6 and 11 year-old children, and Anthony’s own dogs, consisting of several Pitt Bulls and a Chiweenie!! Anthony has been instrumental in helping Loyal to feel more comfortable around strangers and be part of a family, something she never had the opportunity do in the past!

We would love for Loyal to continue attending Anthony’s training classes to complete her Canine Good Citizen certification! Enough money has even been raised to pay for her first post-adoption training class!
