My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

http://www.valleydogs.org/cp_Abbey-ShepHusky.html -- Hi there! My name is Abbey.

I have an abandoned dog "Abbey" ... well I guess you call it abandoned. A family member decided after 8 years she no longer wanted her dog...she called me saying that she didn’t want her, that she had called all rescues where she lives in Prescott and they were all full. Her husband and she had just gone through a divorce and she said she was just not able to handle a dog or afford her. Abbey is dog aggressive due to a previous attack when she was a puppy. We are having to really be very creative...trying to make this work until I can find a home. Abbey is a white/shepherd husky mix, 8 years old, spayed, up to date on shots, needs to be an only pet, finds cats way too interesting. She needs a calm atmosphere with only adults, as children and confusion make her very nervous. She is housebroken were she never ever has accidents, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. I believe she would make a single person, or an older couple. My son found when he took her to vets if you muzzle her she is fine...so brief periods with a muzzle can get you through the doors of vets or other locations you need to go that have dogs there.

She is very loving with her human companions and is looking for a strong pack leader. Can you give Abby a home?

This pup is a courtesy post with Valley Dogs Rescue. Please contact ZoricFamily@cox.net if you are interested in meeting this sweet dog
