The Animal Pad - CA Chapter's Adoption Process

Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 5 forms total.

*Adoption Application
*Pet Owner Questionnaire
*Landlord Agreement (if applicable)
*Sterilization Agreement (if applicable)
*Adoption Contract

All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.

All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owners. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.

Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not attempt to re-home, turn over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sell, etc..

Adoption Application: https://www.theanimalpad.org/adopt-today

Our adoption fees vary from $100-350.

About The Animal Pad - CA Chapter

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.

Feel free to include information about yourself, as well as the types/sizes/breeds of dogs you're interested in fostering.

*Note: If you see a dog in need that's being networked or otherwise, that you'd be willing to foster, and no rescue is backing the dog; send us a message on our Facebook page with a link to the animal and any conditions you have (ie: if you can foster short-tem or long-term).

VOLUNTEER
If you'd like to volunteer for TAP to help with adoption events, networking, advertising, etc. please fill out our online application: http://www.theanimalpad.org/volunteer-application/
