Hi, I’m Chula, a 4-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing 38 lbs and have been spayed. I was rescued from a shelter in Mexico, where the conditions were really tough, but I’m so happy to be safe now! I’m a sweet, gentle girl with a heart of gold. I’m still learning to trust humans, especially adult males, but once I do, I’ll give you all the love and loyalty I have to offer. I’m bathroom trained and do well with a set schedule.
I’m very calm and relaxed, but I can get a little energetic when I first wake up, especially in the mornings. I even have a cute “Chula hop” when I’m excited to see you! I am still nervous around men and get worried. I don’t bark, and I’m not aggressive at all, I just like to keep my distance and retreat to my safe spots when I’m feeling uncertain. I love to relax on soft spots around the house, whether that’s a comfy bed, a spot between the couch and table, or just curling up on the couch with you for a movie. I’m not really into toys, but I’m all about receiving affection, tummy rubs, and hugs. I enjoy walks in the afternoon and will happily walk by your side.
I’m a very kind and smart girl, and with consistent reassurance, I’ll thrive. I’m looking for a family that is patient and understanding, especially when it comes to building trust. Smaller children might make me nervous at first, but I do great with tweens and teens. My ideal home would be calm, where I don’t have to rebuild my relationship with an adult male right away.
