My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mia is a sweet fluffy girl who wants love but is a little nervous because her last human chopped off the ends of her toes. That person then wanted to euthanize her for not wanting to cuddle anymore! Fortunately, we got her instead and she has relearned gentle touches. Mia LOVES pets when she feels safe. As a declawed cat, our girl can get scared and defensive because her options for protecting herself are limited. She doesn’t like her feet touched, especially by strangers. Mia would like a quiet, predictable, safe home with lots of pillows and sunny windows. She also likes toys and treats. Treats are how you can win her trust.

Mia was born March of 2020. She is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org****

Check out all of our pets online at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
